Seed Bank Curator and Laboratory Manager, National Tropical Botanical Garden

As Seed Bank Curator and Laboratory Manager at the National Tropical Botanical Garden on Kauaʻi in Hawaiʻi, Dustin Wolkis serves as the curator of the conservation seed collection and is the principal investigator for seed conservation research. He serves as Deputy Chair of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, Species Survival Commission, Seed Conservation Specialist Group and is Affiliate Faculty in the School of Life Sciences at the University of Hawaiʻi. He is also a PhD student in the Natural History Museum of Denmark at the University of Copenhagen where he is studying, broadly, seed conservation in the Hawaiian flora. He received his BS in Conservation Biology and Ecology and MS in Plant Biology and Conservation from the University of Arizona and was a Research Assistant at the Desert Botanical Garden before moving to Kauaʻi in 2016.
